Uganda visa information

Here is some general information about visas for Uganda. However, please note that visa regulations can change over time, so it’s crucial to verify the latest information from the Ugandan embassy or consulate in your country before making any travel arrangements.

  1. Visa Types:
    • Single Entry Visa: This allows a single entry into Uganda for tourism, leisure, or business purposes.
    • Multiple Entry Visa: This allows multiple entries into Uganda within a specified period, usually valid for up to 6 or 12 months. It is suitable for travelers who plan to enter Uganda multiple times within a year.
  2. Visa on Arrival:
    • Uganda offers visa on arrival facilities for most nationalities at Entebbe International Airport and certain land border crossings. Travelers can obtain a visa upon arrival by completing the application form and paying the visa fee in cash (USD is recommended). It is advisable to carry the exact amount in cash as change may not always be available.
  3. E-Visa:
    • Uganda also provides an online e-visa system that allows eligible travelers to apply for a visa before arrival. The e-visa can be obtained through the official Uganda Electronic Visa/Permit System website. The e-visa should be applied for at least two weeks before the intended travel date.
  4. Visa Requirements:
    • Passport: Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the intended duration of stay in Uganda.
    • Application Form: Either the completed visa application form available at the point of entry or the online e-visa application form.
    • Passport-sized Photos: Two recent passport-sized photographs.
    • Visa Fee: The visa fee varies depending on the type of visa and nationality. It is typically payable in USD.
    • Yellow Fever Vaccination: Uganda requires a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate from travelers coming from, or transiting through, countries with risk of yellow fever transmission. Ensure you have received the necessary vaccinations and carry the yellow fever certificate with you.

It is important to note that visa requirements and regulations can change, so it is always advisable to check with the Ugandan embassy or consulate in your country or consult official government travel websites for the most up-to-date visa information and requirements specific to Uganda.
